When your CRM becomes the problem
Every field in a CRM was added by someone with a good reason. The trouble is that nobody ever removes one. After a few years the sales team spends the first hour of the day feeding the machine: dropdowns, stages, mandatory notes on calls that lasted thirty seconds.
The test is simple. If the system gives the rep something back (the next action, the context they forgot, the follow-up they would have missed). It is a tool. If it only gives management a dashboard, it is a tax. That balance needs to be measured against the work your team actually does.
The fix is rarely a new CRM. It is fewer fields, automatic capture where the data already exists, and AI that drafts the update the rep just approves. Give the hour back; the dashboard can survive with less.
